Weekly Meditation Practice
Meditation can be an excellent tool for managing stress, and living with deepening awareness , presence and ease. My first introduction to meditation was in my early 20's, when I was experiencing some health challenges.
I now hold regular Community Meditation each Tuesday at Byron Community Cabin on Carlyle St. Byron Bay (located in the park). These are silent meditation sittings and we commence with an introductory talk for those new to meditation. We complete with the healing sounds of Crystal Bowls . We sit for approx 40 mins and one can sit on a chair provided, or alternatively bring a cushion and sit on the floor. Cost for this community rate is $10, and please arrive at midday for 12.10 pm start.
Meditation is beneficial for stress and anxiety . It can be of great benefit in times of change and uncertainty. Practiced regularly, meditation can allow one to feel more joy and ease, with a growing clarity and sharper intuition. As stress levels diminish, one can begin to sense the depth of stillness within. Just like a lotus in a muddy pond, a perfect radiant flower has the opportunity to pierce through the perceived darkness.
I am also an I Rest Yoga Nidra meditation teacher and am available for private and group classes. This practice is highly effective for those who have experienced trauma, and there have been some very successful outcomes with this beautiful practice. Yoga Nidra I Rest has a wonderful healing and calming effect to deeply improve one's quality of life .
I also invite you on Tuesdays to experience community healing treatments . These are available for those needing an extra helping healing hand, and for those on a budget in our Byron Shire. Bookings are necessary and one can book in for half an hr ($25) , or 1 hr ($40). These sessions are only available on Tuesday afternoons - ph Katie on 0410751008.
